An Interview With Jude Morrow - Social Worker, Author & Entrepreneur

Meet Jude Morrow. At the age of 11, Jude was diagnosed with Autism. Despite daily struggles within education, Jude went to Ulster University and qualified as a social worker in 2012. Within the same year, Jude also became a father. The life change of becoming a parent created distance between Jude and his son Ethan, to such an extent that Ethan asked, ”why does Daddy always look so sad?”

Jude felt that he needed to come to terms with his Autism and love himself for who he is. Ethan’s question became the title of Jude’s Amazon Best Selling memoir “Why Does Daddy Always Look So Sad?” This book was published by Beyond Words, who also published the self-help book The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne.

Jude is a strong advocate for Autism at all stages of life and that Autism doesn’t end at 18 years old. Jude continues to work as a social worker, motivational speaker, and the founder of Neurodiversity Training International, where he provides training to schools, groups and workplaces.

In this episode we discuss with Jude what life is like living with Autism, his journey towards a career in social work, and what it takes to start your own business. Jude also offers fantastic advice to anyone who has been diagnosed with Autism and isn’t sure of what career path they should follow.
